Of rocking the 90′s and random thoughts

A friend of mine today pointed out to me that I was born pre-80′s. I kinda like that. I was born when Keith Green was prodding buttock musically. When rock music was incendiary AND melodic. Granted in 79 disco really took off but we’re not mentioning that ;)

I know everyone feels this way about the music they listened to when they were teenagers but for me the 90′s were somehow more soppy. The music has real meaning and emotional impact. Granted there are a few song that I’ve heard recently that also leave you feeling like you’d been kissed and left breathless by the clever/funny/slightly-geeky-but-no-one-else-just-yet-sees-the-man-he-will-be guy.

But none of it really has that immediate kick. Maybe it was because I was still so young and innocent and the world was waiting for me and love was just a breath away. I knew that I would rule the world and therefore had more than enough time for it all. That, and I had a body you could use to draw straight or curvy lines if you were so inclined. Sigh..pine.

Soppy music and gambolling* down memory lane aside: I like me. I’m settling into who I am and it is lovely. For some weird reason I am attracting 23 year olds by the bucketful. I am Mrs. Robinson – bwhahahahah -  and godly men my age avoid me like the plague. Meh.

I will no longer get the 325Ci. This is truly sad. Better for my finances but really sad. I REALLY wanted that car.

1. Word of the day: loquacious

2. Insight of the day: Bryan Adams will always be the king of soppy rock

3. State of the pool: Fizzy, blood temperature, crystal

4. Random thought: the same pre-80′s comment friend wants me to have this as my random thought “your epidermis is showing”…I have to hand it to him. It is pretty random :) oh and this because I’ve yet to read a headline as funny and having CC run with it…highly inapropriate but oh so priceless

5. Awesomest lines: bloody JB still hasn’t finished the story…so instead we are ridiculously happy about 80′s comment friend’s 90′s iTunes playlist.

6. Scripture line: Not scripture but Keith Green this one and this one and this one and for good measure this one. Oh what the hell here’s the link for them all
